Time to focus mind and efforts on a new perspective aimed at self health enhancement. If you are currently inactive your present views and opinions of physical activity will not serve you at all! Is there another way you can look at physical fitness, that will inspire you to become active today? A new fitness paradigm. Physical activity makes you feel good mentally as well as physically. Physical activity reduces your risk of developing a host of diseases. Physically active individuals are less likely to become obese and enjoy an overall higher quality of life. Daily undertaking can be performed with greater ease for the physically active. Shifting to a fitness paradigm involves simple, gradual adjustments and changes. Walking instead of driving when possible, foregoing the elevator to take the stairs, allotting 30 minutes per day for physical activity. Increasing your activity level doesn’t mean you have to join a gym-stretching, yoga, a game of basketball or a few laps around the neighborhood park are all ways to inject physical activity into your life. Make becoming physically active fun, incorporate various activities into your regime, that’s right I said regime! By devoting at least 30 minute per day to physical activity you’ll garner greater health benefits than from sporadic exercise. Your regime can include as many or as few activities as you choose. The key is to do something for 30 minutes most days of the week. The focus of this paradigm shift is physical activity, when and where are up to you, but I will offer this advice. Choose a time, i.e. before work, during lunch hour or after work, that won’t interfere with other major responsibilities. At home, a gym, a park, the where doesn’t matter as long as it allows you to work for 30 uninterrupted minutes. Physical activity will contribute many benefits to your life on the physical, mental and emotional levels. The value of a simple fitness regime is priceless. |
