The American Heart Association states, “If you're inactive, doing anything is better than nothing! Studies show that people who have a low fitness level are much more likely to die early than people who have achieved even a moderate level of fitness.” It should be clear by now that physical activity is a necessary part of a healthy lifestyle. The sedentary lifestyle had caused a sharp increase is overweight, obese, and unhealthy individuals both adults and children. What can you do to protect yourself from the ravages of inactivity- illness, disease, lack of energy, poor sleep, stress, and mental dissatisfaction? What will inspire you to change your lifestyle, begin a fitness routine, improve your health, body composition, appearance, and the quality of your life. It’s important that you find a reason to begin, one that will keep you motivated. Most people would like to begin, they just can’t seem to find the impetus for various reasons. As far as I’m concerned the excuses are plenty and but not very compelling. A fitness routine doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective, in fact initially it’s best to keep it simple. Walking, running, swimming, weight lifting; dancing, or yoga; physical activities come in a variety of flavors. What’s your favorite flavor? |
